Richard Boggie is a playwright, performance poet, disability activist and access consultant based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
His work is playful and comedic, tackling important equality and social justice issues, using his lived experience of sight loss and disability to create insightful and challenging work.
He offers his expertise to help other artists and producers make their work accessible to visually impaired and disabled audiences.

Theatre
His first play, ‘Chop, Dissolve, Burn’, written with fellow playwright, Lisette Auton, was produced at the award-winning Alphabetti Theatre in 2023.

I have been a spoken word poet since 2017, performing and competing on stages across the North East and the UK.

I can offer my experience and knowledge of digital and physical accessibility, informed by over 30 years off sight loss.

Audio Drama
As an Associate Artist with Alphabetti Theatre, I was commissioned to write two short audio dramas, ‘Hearing Voices’ and ‘The Interval’.
